POTTERY & PORCELAIN RESTORATION
WHAT WE DO
We restore all types of ceramics - pottery, porcelain,
stoneware, earthenware etc.
All our work is completed to the highest standard, and we use only the
best materials and techniques to ensure your precious piece looks as good as
new when we return it to you and for many, many years to come.
We take a great deal of pride in our work, and work up to a standard
rather than down to a price.
WHAT WE DON'T DO
We don't take "short cuts"
which cause extra damage to the piece (eg using a dremmel to sand which removes
original glaze and means a great deal of over-painting is necessary.)
We don't use unsuitable materials (eg fillers, glazes etc developed for
the car industry)
We don't use cheap materials (eg superglue, colours which fade or glazes
which turn yellow after a couple of years.)
WHAT DOES IT COST?
The cost obviously varies depending on the amount of damage and the complexity
of the finishing involved. If you live near Southport, popping in with the
piece for a price is obviously the best way, but otherwise
an e-mail with
photos of the damage will allow us to give you a estimate for the work.
PAYING FOR THE REPAIR
For items sent to us in the
post, we ask for 25% of the agreed price when the piece is sent.
The balance will be due when the work is complete and ready to be posted back
to you. We will e-mail photos of the completed piece to ensure that you're happy.
For items brought in in person, we are happy to take full payment on
completion.
OTHER INFO.
High quality restoration is a time consuming business. Please allow 6 -
12 weeks for completion of your piece, depending on complexity - although if
you have a special reason for needing the piece restored more quickly we will
do our best to help.
